DAMIAN ABRAHAM

Live Turned Out A Punk Episode With Dinosaur Jr. (Live Interview)

Damian Abraham can be many things... the singer of a critically acclaimed band, a failed VJ, a host for Vice…a parent, but certainly he is a punk music obsessive. Each week, he sits down and chats with an interesting person from the far reaching worlds of entertainment to find out how their life was changed by the discovery of a novelty genre that supposedly died out in 1978... PUNK.

DEVADAS

Devadas will lead a Kirtan, along with J and others

Devadas is a kirtaniya, composer, writer and artist from Brooklyn, New York. He leads kirtans throughout the world and has recorded a wide variety of acclaimed CDs, including Radio Nada and Brooklyn Mellows, as well as the soon to be released Grand Street Kirtan Sessions.  He’s often collaborated with friend, J Mascis and appears on his 2018 record, Elastic Days as well as his 2005 release, J and Friends Sing & Chant for Amma.

For those who may have never experienced kirtan: it's a spiritual practice, native to India, open to all. It involves the devotional call and response chanting of what are considered to be divine names. It's meditative. Intimate, profound, healing, ecstatic & fun.
